Overview

Beautiful stylish results are important when coating furniture. The Sayerlack Hydroplus waterbased range can be used to produce finishes that are indistinguishable in quality, strength and chemical resistance as two-pack polyurethane finishes. Sayerlack is at the forefront of waterbased technology that is conscientious about the wellbeing of people and the environment. AT0601 is a two-pack, dead matt, waterborne, self-sealing lacquer designed for interior joinery ensuring a beautiful natural look to wood, good hardness, chemical resistance and smoothness to the touch.

This product is particularly suitable when a natural, zero % sheen effect is desired, since it leaves the woods natural appearance, touch and shade unchanged. It's the ideal product for kitchen doors, flat parts, turned parts, picture frames and matchboards. It can be sprayed using a conventional gun, and curtain coater. It can be used as a self-sealer directly onto wood. It comes ready to use and can be catalysed with 10% AH1503 and cross-linked with 1% of XA4080 for a more durable finish and thinned using 5% water if necessary.

Usage

PREPARATION

For best results, we suggest priming the surface with one coats of Sayerlack AU0420/00 Waterbased Clear Primer. Once fully cured denib the surface using 240-320 grit stearate abrasives. They provide a higher efficiency than conventional abrasives. Ensure the surface is completely clean of dust and debris before coating.

APPLICATION

Optionally, AT0601 can be applied alone as a single pack without hardener but the natural look shows but the chemical and physical performances are a lot lower than they would be with the catalyst. Apply the topcoat at a weight of 80-100 g/m². Due to the way the material is formulated it can also be used as a self-sealer, directly on bare wood. It is stackable after 24 hours from an application of 100g/m, in good drying conditions and with air circulation (at 20°C and with 65% of relative humidity). Under these circumstances it's sandable after 4 hours. Lower temperatures and higher relative humidity will incur a longer drying time.

AFTER CARE

Due to the high chemical resistance of Waterbased Topcoats, the packaging used does not usually cause problems. We recommend high-density polythene. PVC or Pluriball are not suitable.

ALTERNATIVE HARDENERS/THINNERS

When used for industrial coating systems, we suggest the use of the hardener and the addition of 1% of XA4080/00 to speed up stacking times.
